Anywhere but here

As it is Friday, and everything that could go wrong today now has - I'm taking a mental vacation for the next few minutes and running away.

Now, I don't want to go somewhere I've never been. I might get lost. I want to go somewhere I have gone, loved and can easily daydream of returning to.

Just got back from West Virginia, so not this time. I love NY, but recently went as well. The South is too hot. So that leaves me with somewhere up north. But I don't want crowds.

I've got it! I'm going to Montana. You can catch me in Glacier National Park. It's gorgeous there. And I bet it's nice and cool right now.

The snow is melting and the run-off has got the creeks and rivers flowing fast and wild.

Here's the rundown of Glacier: The Park is located in Montana, bordering the Canadian provinces of Alberta and British Columbia.

The park contains two mountain ranges, over 130 named lakes, more than 1,000 different species of plants and hundreds of species of animals.

It is spread across 1,584 square miles (4,101 square km), and is the centerpiece of what has been referred to as the "Crown of the Continent Ecosystem", a region of protected land encompassing 16,000 square miles. The famed Going -to-the-Sun Road (which Benjamin and I drove on) goes through the heart of the park and crosses the Continental Divide. Five historic hotels and chalets are in the park and are listed as National Historic Landmarks.

Yeah, that's where I am. I'm tooling around in the little red wagons and I've already checked into a nice suite at the Lake McDonald Lodge.

Be sure to check out the photos and map to see what I'm seeing right now. And for more information check out this Wikipedia Link.

Oh, and since you know where I'm at currently - be sure to scroll down and mark yourself on my map (if you haven't already). I'm up to 10 spots now. Very nice.
