Never give up

I know it's been awhile, but I ran across this little video this morning on my morning blog tour and had to re-post it. This woman is 47 and single. Never been kissed, never gone on a date and lives with her best friend, her cat Pebbles. She's a hit over in England right now, and as you watch this video, you can see why.

Another reason never to give up dreaming, no matter how old we become.

A Smashing good time

One of the (few) perks of my job is that I get to attend crazy events from time to time - like the video below.

It's basically where we shoot a two-by-four at 100 miles per hour at two walls - each representing the two most common types of homes built - a siding clad home over a wood stud wall and a brick exterior over a wood stud wall.

For the third wall, a Poly Steel concrete form home, we shoot two-by-fours at 300 mph.

See the difference...

At long last...

Well, I haven't disappeared or fallen off the face of the Earth. And I know you, my loyal four readers, have missed me so very much, but life just keeps on keeping on.

I know that's no real excuse - but if it's down to blogging or catching a few (waking) moments with the hubby when he's away from the hospital - I'm spending time with the hubby.

Work for me is work, and this rotation for the hubby is very taxing. But I promised you guys videos and photos of our trip to D.C. - so that's what I'm giving you. Three videos...

Put that Valentine's candy to good use

I am not a fan of those chalky little Valentine candy hearts. Tums taste better, and that's not saying much.

But apparently, there do have a good use - as art.

Gone to the dogs

As most of you should know, I'm a proud dog owner (and a cat owner too!) and cherish all my furry children.

And while I think my Jackie, a Jack Russell terrier, could outsmart many kids these days, she's still got room for improvement. And Baylee, a miniature schnauzer, well... let's just say she's got way more room for improvement than Jackie.

But this dog, in the video below, is amazing. I've seen him on various shows before and knew he was good, but this story almost brings a tear to my eye...

Steppin' up

Went to D.C. this weekend for a short, but enjoyable getaway.

While there, we caught the Capitol Steps latest show. Having never seen the Steps before, I didn't quite know what to expect. But, as it turns out, it was exactly what the doctor ordered when he said laughter is the best medicine.

Check out some of the group's parodies I got from YouTube. (Note: These aren't the actors and exact parodies we saw, but are the same lyrics and music.) And yes, they are political. The group is based in D.C. and have 'Capitol' in its name - it has to be political. That's what makes it funny.

Holiday fun.

Okay, I know it's been awhile and all that jazz, but this will totally make up for it.

It's a video of the whole crew (minus the cat) doing a little holiday jig.

Watch it. PLEASE - it's great!!!

Just click here!

It's not easy being me...

Okay, okay. So the song is "It's not easy being green," but today I'm having yet another day like yesterday, minus the wasp sting (confirmed to be from a red wasp).

So, to spare everyone all my negativity (and my husband from telling me again how worried he is someone might actually be reading my blog), I'll just leave you with Kermit and the side note that tomorrow is the last day of this horribly stupid month. September is going to be a whole new world, I can just feel it.

Just for fun

Viewer beware! This isn't for the faint. It's more humorous than disgusting, but it's still got a definate EWW factor.

Happy Friday!

Kate-the-Great dances

She said she'd get a chipmunk costume and dance - and I found her!

Now the question remains... which chipmunk is she?

Not dead yet

For the four of you out there wondering what's going on in my life and if I'm still alvie at all... the answer is yes. I'm alive and recovering from having my gallbladder out.

Howard, my chosen name for my gallbladder, left me around 8:00 p.m. last Thursday night, the 5th. I stayed a night in the hospital and am home recovering.

I'm feeling much better and not as quite like death-warmed-over. That phase was earlier in week. I'll be heading back into work on Monday.

But feeling as poorly as I did and all made me think of Monty Python and our trip to see Spamalot in August 06. :::Sigh::: It was a FANTASTIC show. Want proof? YouTube has the entire show in 12 parts, with the original cast of Tim Curry, Hank Azaria, David Hyde Pierce and Sara Rameriez. If you are truly bored and have the time... watch it. You'll be laughing and laughing.

But for the time, watch this originial clip of Monty Python's famed "I'm Not Dead Yet" spoof.

Need a Monday laugh?

It's Monday and from the looks of it, we all could use a laugh.

Does this video make any sense? No. So laugh anyway.

I miss being a kid...

Remember the days when Sesame Street was golden and all that was on your schedule was playing outside and playing inside?

Enjoy the Yip yips. I haven't laughed like that in awhile.
