It's about time

I figured I'd go ahead and update everyone on what's going on with us before I leave you all again.

First of all, I had my last day at work and haven't seemed to stopping running since. I know I'm suppose to have more time for me without the full-time job, but it really doesn't seem to work that way. The word busy doesn't seem to cover it either.

So I left work that Friday long ago, threw a baby shower the following Sunday and made an AWESOME cake for it. I was super proud of my work.

Then I turned around and left here to go to Texas to see my sweetheart (which I hadn't seen in 3 1/2 weeks). We did our first interview of the Residency Interview season there in Tyler and really liked the program. After the interview we ran to Waco to spend a small fortune at the Baylor Bookstore to load up on Baylor gear. Even the girls got a little Baylor Spirit. Sic 'em Bears!

The I left my hubby for a cruise with part of my fam. Mom, Dad, Seth Cruise and I all went to Mexico for a little fun in the sun. We saw Cozumel and a little of Progresso. Cozumel was much better in my opinion. Check out a couple of pics below. First is all of us getting off the ship and the other is the crystal clear waters off of Cozumel we snorkeled and swam the afternoon away in. Nice. Big hugs to Seth for winning us a cruise.

Then I returned home just in time to do some free-lance work for a couple of magazines. But that's boring. We also did some local trips, including a drive down the Colonial Parkway. Here's a beautiful Virginia sunset.

And it wasn't too long before we were packing up again, this time for some camping in Shenandoah National Park where the leaves were changing colors in force! I'd like to note, for anyone who thinks I'm a girly-girl sissy, it was a balmy 37 degrees in the tent the first night. And while we did get a small heater for the tent the second night, it froze outside and ONLY reached 44 degrees in the tent. That's cold, and the pups will tell you so.

I wish I had pics from that, but they're on the other computer or hard drive or something. We've been experiencing some major pain-in-the-butt-problems with both our desktop and laptop computers. Plus, somewhere along the way we've lost many files we put on an external hard drive that's now busted. Nice. Anyway, back to better things...

Next, I jetted off to Vegas with my fellow Baylor-chick, we'll call her Bloss, and took in all that is Vegas. We did the Venetian canal rides, shopped, rode the Insanity on top of the Stratosphere, won some money, loss some money, saw Blue Man Group, saw Phantom, watched the Belliago fountains, ate at posh restaurants and so much more. Vegas is great fun, just don't take the kids.

Then, just last week we went for our next two interviews in North Carolina. One in Asheville and one in Hendersonville, about 30 minutes south. Both have great programs as well, but we are really leaning more the Hendersonville out of the two. Plus, we're trying to keep open minds for the remaining two-thirds of the interviews as well. But along with the business, we mixed in fun - going to see the Biltmore Estate and Winery there in Asheville. This was my second trip to see it, but my sweetie's first and we weren't disappointed. That place is amazing. But in addition to Biltmore, we took in all the gorgeous colors and views that fall in the North Carolinian Mountains offers.

And now we're to today - just 6 days away from pulling out of our driveway and not returning to it for 2 1/2 months. What's ahead? Wyoming, Idaho, Colorado, Alaska and many MANY adventures! I'll try better to keep you posted. Maybe - if I'm not having too much fun.
